The Breast Cancer Research Foundation Receives Free IntelliTXT Campaign to Raise Awareness and Help Find a Cure; Wilson Sporting Goods Donating One Dollar to Foundation for Each Click on Video
NEW YORK, 10/04/2006 -- The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer, and long-time corporate sponsor, Wilson Sporting Goods Co. (Wilson), have partnered with Vibrant Media, the world's leading provider of in-text advertising, to raise awareness and funding through a new advertising campaign.
Throughout October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Vibrant Media will provide BCRF with a free IntelliTXT campaign that promotes its cause whenever a user mouses over the phrase "breast cancer," which will be double-underlined and highlighted pink on all 1,200 IntelliTXT-enabled publishers.
The campaign will be seen on a number of leading health and women's sites including iVillage, Oxygen.com, Shape.com and Nubella.com. Wilson will donate one dollar to BCRF for each click on the video ad unit, up to $100,000.
The campaign will be utilizing the new IntelliTXT word ownership program from Vibrant Media, which gives advertisers exclusive access to the words of their choice on every publisher. The ad unit is completely user-initiated, targeting BCRF's message to users who demonstrate interest by interacting with the highlighted phrase.
IntelliTXT will help BCRF engage potential supporters and raise awareness of its role in battling a disease that kills over 40,000 women in the U.S. each year. Since its inception in 1993, the BCRF has raised more than $144 million to support innovative clinical and genetic research at leading medical centers worldwide, and increase public awareness about good breast health.
"We are very grateful to Vibrant Media and Wilson for their support, and know that highlighting 'breast cancer' in pink across the Internet will evoke a strong response from the millions of people affected directly and indirectly by this disease," said Myra J. Biblowit, president of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Wilson Sporting Goods Co., one of the world's leading manufacturers of sports equipment, is an official supporter of the BCRF. Wilson's HOPE tennis and golf collection has been designed especially for women. "The Breast Cancer Research Foundation has shown an extraordinary commitment to easing the burden of breast cancer in every possible way, and when coupled with an effective marketing channel like Vibrant Media's in-text placement, we knew this would be a valuable opportunity to provide our support," said Molly Wallace, Director of Communications with Wilson Sporting Goods Co. "As a long-term partner of BCRF, we are excited to join with them in this innovative new program during October."
Vibrant Media analyzes 500 billion words and manages four billion words for its advertisers each month, with campaigns reaching more than 70 million consumers worldwide.
"The branding and targeting capabilities of IntelliTXT VIDEO have been proven by top-tier advertisers, and it's an honor to help generate awareness through user-initiated commercials for such a worthwhile cause as breast cancer research and awareness," said Doug Stevenson, CEO and co-founder of Vibrant Media.
