Joan Wyly,
   Vice President, Operations Profile

PROUDEST MOMENT:

Well it wasn't one moment but rather a series of them. Being part of the growth of Connors from child, to adolescent, to adult, and all the growing pains in between has been one big moment that I'll never forget.

SPECIALITY:

Playing Switzerland - seeing both sides of a conflict or problem and serving as an objective mediator.

FAVORITE PASTIMES:

Following hockey when there is a season.

HEROES:

Jimmy Carter because of his commitment to humanity, Gloria Steinem for all that she's done for us working girls, and Bobby Orr, because he was the best at what he did.

FAVORITE THINGS:

Besides my friends and family, animals, such as dogs and cats, because they see into your soul more than another person can. And the bond that develops is unique.

PERSONAL QUIRKS:

I can be slightly obsessive.

DREAM CAREER CHOICE:

Figure skater or hockey player.

ASPIRATIONS:

Perfection. Regardless of the task, there is a gratification in executing something as absolutely flawlessly as possible. It is the pursuit of this goal that makes the Olympics captivating as each athlete strives to become the best in their event. The fulfillment of doing any one thing, no matter how big or small, to the best of your ability translates to every aspect of life.

PHILOSOPHY:

Karma is a boomerang -- everything you do comes back to you.

BE ANYWHERE RIGHT NOW:

The mountains in Colorado.

BEST ADVICE I EVER GOT:

"Do what makes you happy." I'm not sure which comes first -- whether exceling at things that you enjoy or you excel at something so you enjoy doing it. Either way you reach the same conclusion. Being passionate and committed to what you're doing will bring success and happiness.
