UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN ZELL LURIE INSTITUTE FOR ENTREPRENEURIAL STUDIES PRESENTS ‘ENTREPALOOZA 2002: THE FOUNDATION OF FUTURE BUSINESS,’ SEPT. 13

Symposium Provides Opportunity to Network and Learn from Leading Entrepreneurial Experts

ANN ARBOR, Mich., 08/19/2002 -- The Samuel Zell & Robert H. Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies, the world's leading university-based center for entrepreneurial studies, will host its annual symposium, "Entrepalooza 2002: The Foundation of Future Business," on September 13. This half-day event, co-hosted by the Entrepreneur and Venture Capital Club (EVC), will provide members of the entrepreneurial, business and venture capital communities an opportunity to discuss and reflect on lessons learned in this era of change and advancement.

Keynote speakers and entrepreneurial victors, Ravi Mohan, general partner, Battery Ventures and Michael Jandernoa, Chairman of the Board, Perrigo Company will address their own entrepreneurial feat along with opportunities for success.

"Fostering new business ventures can not be done solely in the classroom. Entrepalooza offers an environment for emerging entrepreneurs to network with influential leaders in the entrepreneurial community," said Tom Kinnear, executive director of the Zell Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies. "This event presents the knowledge and direction needed to develop a thriving business in today's economy."

Influential officers in the entrepreneurial community will present panel discussions focusing on an array of critical issues and tactics to help successfully grow emerging companies. Among them include 'Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies' with Richard Sabot, co-founder and Chairman of Eziba, 'Franchising: The Business Alternative' with David McKinnon, Chairman and CEO, Service Brands International and 'Growing Your Business: How Big Should It Be?' with Tom Borders, founder of Borders Books.

"What I find most beneficial about Entrepalooza is the opportunity to network with entrepreneurs from a variety of industries," said Brian Meisenbach, MBA2 and co-president of the Entrepreneur and Venture Capital Club at the University of Michigan. "This event focuses on the fundamental philosophy that dedication, drive and focus on one mission is what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur, which truly puts the world of entrepreneurship and business at its core into perspective."
