Kevin Ota is a public relations veteran with more than 16 years of experience in technology,
consumer, corporate, and non-profit marketing communications. Kevin’s expertise covers a wide
range of technologies, including consumer hardware and software, online services, wireless
infrastructure, satellite/GPS, graphics/imaging, and e-commerce. Kevin has helped many clients
turn disruptive technologies into consumer trends, introduce totally new products and
services to established markets, and strengthen consumer technology brands targeting specific audiences.
Before joining Connors, Kevin was an independent consultant, providing counsel and execution of
business and consumer PR strategies for established clients and start up companies on the east and
west coasts. His clients enjoyed positive coverage in major media outlets including the New York Times,
Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Fortune Magazine, Newsweek, NBC Today Show, CBS Early Show, CNN, Associated
Press, Gannett News Service, Knight-Ridder, and many others.
Kevin was previously Vice President at Blanc & Otus Public Relations, the technology subsidiary of
Hill & Knowlton. He was a leader of the core team that founded B&O’s Mountain View, California office
in 1998, where he led teams that launched some of Silicon Valley’s top technology companies and products,
including TiVo, Hotwire, Ofoto, RocketCash, and Magellan Systems, as well as established corporations, such
as Motorola and Xerox.
Before joining Blanc & Otus, Kevin was an account manager for Capital Relations in Los Angeles, executing
launch and ongoing media activities for hardware and software clients, including Hewlett-Packard, Motorola
and CyberMedia. Prior to Capital Relations, Kevin was Communications Manager at the Los Angeles Educational
Partnership, creating public relations programs and events that drew coverage from national publications,
including Newsweek, New York Times and Wall Street Journal.
Kevin is a graduate of the University of Southern California’s School of Journalism. In his spare time, he
enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, home improvement projects, playing in a 30-and-over baseball league, and
relaxing with family.
