Goodmail Systems Secures $8 Million in Strategic Funding and Expands Management Team and Board of Directors

Investments from DCM - Doll Capital Management and Emergence Capital Accelerate Availability of CertifiedEmail

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., 10/17/2005 -- Goodmail Systems (TM), developers of the Goodmail CertifiedEmail service, a comprehensive email certification platform, announced that it has secured $8 million in venture funding. The round of funding was co-led by DCM - Doll Capital Management and Emergence Capital Partners. The company has also named Dixon Doll, cofounder and managing general partner of DCM, and Jason Green, general partner of Emergence Capital Partners, to its board of directors. Additionally, Goodmail appointed John Ouren to the position of senior vice president of sales and business development. The recent funding will accelerate the launch of Goodmail System's CertifiedEmail service focused on the accreditation, certification, delivery, and safe-labeling of high value email.

"DCM has long recognized the need for a comprehensive certification solution that brings safety and reliability to email, and we are very enthusiastic about Goodmail's market and product strategy," said Dixon Doll, cofounder and managing general partner of DCM. "We believe Goodmail will revolutionize the way organizations communicate and conduct business electronically, ensuring that email is a most attractive, cost-effective medium for facilitating business transactions."

"Emergence Capital's investment reflects our belief that there is significant demand for a comprehensive email certification solution that not only restores safety and reliability to email, but also assures the delivery of business-critical messages from legitimate senders to consumers," said Jason Green, general partner of Emergence Capital Partners. "We're confident that Goodmail has the ability to establish a much needed industry standard for email certification, greatly improving the email experience for ISPs, senders and consumers."

Ouren will be responsible for the company's overall sales and business development efforts including managing the company's current alliances and market development efforts. Before joining Goodmail, Ouren was the senior vice president of sales, services and field operations at Digital Impact, a leading provider of email marketing technology and services, recently acquired by Acxiom Corporation.

"We are very fortunate to have the support of two leading venture capital investors. We welcome Dixon Doll and Jason Green to our board and John Ouren to our management team," said Richard Gingras, chairman, president and CEO of Goodmail Systems. "Goodmail has made great progress to date and our solution has gained tremendous response from initial partners and customers. This infusion of investment and talent will enable us to aggressively fuel the development of our business as we bring the Goodmail CertifiedEmail service to market."
